Rajeswari Das

Rajeswari Das is a second year graduate student who joined the Gianetti lab in november, 2019 as part of the PhD program in the department of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Arizona. She hails from the eastern part of India where she received her integrated masters in chemistry (BS and MS) from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. During her undergrad she worked incorporation of magnetite, TiO2 and graphene oxide nanocomposites for efficient photocatalytic activity in the materials science field. Following an Indian academy of sciences internship where she worked on the photocatalytic oxidation of alcohols by Fe-TAML catalyst motivated her to join an inorganic lab with focus on photocatalysis. In the Gianetti lab she is focusing on DMQA+ class of helicenes and their role as potential electrophotocatalysts. In her free time she enjoys reading Russian classics and sketching when she is not travelling obviously!
