Dr. Liangyong Mei
Liangyong is a postdoctoral research assistant in the Gianetti lab, who comes from China. He received his B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Qingdao University in 2010, and his Ph. D. degree from East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in 2015. After that, he continued his postdoctoral studies at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) from March 2016 to November 2018. His doctoral research mainly focused on transition-metal-catalyzed organic synthesis methodologies, in which way he has gained a lot of experimental skills as well as knowledge of organic chemistry. His postdoctoral research at UCR focused on quantitatively identifying protein folding in living cells, thus he has acquired a decent amount of knowledge about chemical biology as well. Liangyong joined Gianetti lab in November 2018, and he focuses on the development of novel ambiphilic ligands and their applications in transition-metal-catalyzed reactions. Liangyong is really excited about his new adventure at the University of Arizona, and believes that the research in Gianetti lab will help a lot with his own future career.
